I-CAN Sleep: A Research Program for Individuals with
Insomnia and CANcer
Poor sleep is one of the most common complaints from people finishing their cancer treatment. It can negatively impact almost every area of your life. There is something that YOU can do!
The University of Calgary and the Department of Psychosocial Resources at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre are offering programs designed to help you improve your sleep without the use of medication. All patients complete a thorough sleep assessment prior to beginning the program and are randomly assigned to join one of two programs, both of which have been shown to improve sleep. In these programs you will meet with other people and learn skills to improve the quality of your sleep, and your life! The professionally-led groups meet once a week for 8 weeks and programs are offered in the Fall, Winter and Spring.

You may be eligible to participate if you are:
Having trouble falling or remaining asleep
Experiencing difficulty during the day because of poor sleep
At least 1 month post-treatment (hormonal treatment is acceptable)
